Lake Seminole Reforestation Planting

On January 24, MAR partnered with Pinellas County to complete a reforestation project at Lake Seminole Management Area. Together, we planted more than 500 native Florida trees and plants to strengthen the landscape and support the local ecosystem.

Native plants play an important role in Florida’s natural systems. They provide habitat, food, and shelter for wildlife, and we were excited to see birds and other animals already exploring the new plantings. Over time, the roots of these trees and shrubs will also help absorb rainwater and reduce flooding during heavy storms, improving the site’s resilience.

We are grateful to Pinellas County for their partnership and support in making this project possible.
